“…Lambs born to the control ewes group recorded higher (P<0.05) gain compared with other tested groups. The average daily weight gains for different experimental lambs groups ranged between 128 and 147 g/h/d, which coincide with the published records of daily weight gain value (150 g/d) for lambs born to Barki ewes fed untraditional rations, but being lower than the values recorded for lambs born to Barki ewes fed traditional roughage and CFM (160 g/h/d) according to the recommended allowances of Farid et al (2005). According to lambs performance results, it was concluded that, lambs born to ewes maintained on salt tolerant fodder during pregnancy and lactation could achieve moderate and normal healthy live body weight and daily gain without any dietary deleterious influences on lambs performance.…”
