Feasibility and reproducibility of the PsAMRIS-H score for psoriatic arthritis in low-field-strength dedicated extremity magnetic resonance imaging

Abstract: Low-field 0.2-T MRI is capable of quantifying the PsAMRIS-H with good intra-reader reproducibility. However, low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), low spatial resolution, and system artefacts limit the application of the PsAMRIS-H, leading to low inter- and intra-reader agreement for individual features.

“…To date, the score has been evaluated only on a 0.6-T MRI system. Strube, et al evaluated the PsAMRIS-H on a low-field MRI system, showing good intrareader reproducibility, although inter-and intrareader agreement for individual features including tenosynovitis and periarticular inflammation were low 24 . Skeletal scintigraphy and positron emission tomography.…”

“…PsA disease manifestations may be assessed by qualitative, semiquantitative, or quantitative methods. There is no consensus on which joints to assess, and while it should probably be individualized based on the pattern of involvement, most studies have assessed the wrist and fingers 1,2,3,4,5,6 .…”

“…In the clinical practice, the assessment is time-consuming and not enough reliable. Strube et al ( 19 ) , in their study on 65 consecutive patients with PsA, evaluated the usefulness and repeatability of this scoring method on 0,2T MRI scans. They revealed low to moderate interobserver compatibility in separate components of the scale assessment, especially for tenosynovitis and periarticular inflammation.…”

“…Strube i wsp. (19) przeanalizowali badania MR wykonane na aparacie 0,2 T u 65 chorych na ŁZS pod kątem użyteczności i powtarzalności tej metody. Zgodność między oceniającymi w poszczególnych elementach skali, z naciskiem na zapalenie pochewek ścięgnistych i zapalenie tkanek miękkich przystawowych, wahała się od niskiej do średniej.…”
