Abstract: Elderly people are the most vulnerable group for high morbidity and mortality from Covid-19. “…One of them was to keep themselves strong physically and mentally and safe while caring for the Covid-19 victims. This is consistent with the findings by Alagamy et al (2022) that meeting old people's health needs requires great effort as they are the most vulnerable group for high morbidity and mortality from Covid-19 cases. Next, she also needed to concentrate on applying to her university to not go to campus while undergoing home-quarantine for becoming close contacts, setting up home office and completing all important tasks while working at home, getting enough face masks, and getting enough ration for medical essentials, house sanitizer and food during home-quarantine.…”

“…The present study aimed to conduct a direct evaluation of the efficacy of a combined online training in two types of mindfulness-based therapies for the reduction of compassion fatigue and burnout in geriatric nurses caring for institutionalized older people with dementia in a randomized controlled trial. Very few studies have investigated effective ways to reduce stress in staff caring for people with dementia in nursing homes in relation to compassion fatigue and caregiving satisfaction during this period [ 47 , 48 , 49 ]. This trial will extend our knowledge by evaluating whether online mindfulness training reduces stress and improves job satisfaction in this professional group.…”

“…This high stress and heavy workload leads to gaps and deficiencies in caring for patients ( Bernacki et al, 2021 ; Masterson-Algar et al, 2021 ). In such a situation, caring behavior can be negatively affected by insufficient information about the disease, long and continuous care of affected patients, high workload, and constant exposure to death ( Alagamy et al, 2022 ). Although the unfavorable caring behaviors of nurses (focusing on routine and technical aspects more than the social-emotional aspects) can be a contributing factor to client's unmet needs ( Baljani et al, 2012 ), it was found that nurses’ caring behavior in the context of COVID-19 had been at a favorable level ( Hajibabaee et al, 2022 ).…”
