FDG-PET/CT Findings of Peritoneal Lymphomatosis

Abstract: Peritoneal lymphomatosis (PL) is an extensive lymphomatous infiltration of the intraperitoneal portion of the subperitoneal space, which is a rare presentation of lymphoma. Using CT or MRI findings alone, it is difficult to differentiate between lymphomatosis, carcinomatosis, and other pathological entities. We experienced two PL cases and herein report the FDG-PET/CT findings. High FDG uptakes were found in omental and peritoneal infiltration, gastric wall involvement, and lymph node involvement in the epiphre… Show more

“…[123] FDG uptake has been reported in peritoneal lymphomatosis both in DLBCL and Burkitt's lymphoma. [456] Our case illustrates intense FDG uptake involving the entire peritoneum with suppressed FDG activity of the rest of the body including brain and kidneys, giving it an appearance of “super scan.” Skeletal and hepatic super scans have already been mentioned in the literature in lympho-reticular malignancies. [789] To our knowledge, such “peritoneal super scan” has not been reported till date.…”
