FDA-approved COVID-19 vaccines are effective per real-world evidence synthesized across a multi-state health system

Abstract: Large Phase 3 clinical trials of the two FDA-approved COVID-19 vaccines, mRNA-1273 (Moderna) and BNT162b2 (Pfizer/BioNTech), have demonstrated efficacies of 94.1% (n = 30,420, 95% CI: 89.3-96.8) and 95% (n = 43,448, 95% CI: 90.3-97.6) in preventing symptomatic COVID-19, respectively.
