Fault Detection for T-S Fuzzy Time-Delay Systems: Delta Operator and Input-Output Methods

Abstract: This paper focuses on the problem of fault detection for Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy systems with time-varying delays via delta operator approach. By designing a filter to generate a residual signal, the fault detection problem addressed in this paper can be converted into a filtering problem. The time-varying delay is approximated by the two-term approximation method. Fuzzy augmented fault detection system is constructed in δ -domain, and a threshold function is given. By applying the scaled small gain theorem and ch… Show more

“…For a class of time-delay systems with mismatched parametric uncertainties, Xia et al 23 investigated the robust sliding-mode control. An output-tracking control scheme of delta operator time-delay systems was presented in Gao et al 24 By using the T-S fuzzy model, the fault detection problem was concentered in Li et al 25 for nonlinear delta operator systems. Very little results have been reported on delta operator-based fuzzy controller in literatures, such as time-delay system.…”

“…Finally, we test the effectiveness of the proposed FF-MRLS algorithm with three numerical examples. The proposed FF-MRLS algorithm can be extended to study identification for Wiener models, and state space models [53,55,56] and can be applied to other fields [24,38,54].…”

“…Since the nonlinear system can be modelled as a weighted total of combined linear sub-models via T-S fuzzy modelling, researchers have put a great deal of efforts into T-S fuzzy systems and numerous achievements have been obtained in this research field. To mention a few, the receding horizon disturbance attenuation analysis and dynamic decoupling are studied in [2,7], the fuzzy controllers are designed for nonlinear systems in [16,32,34,42], the the fault detection and H ∞ synchronization problem are solved in [17,30], the fuzzy-rule-dependent stability analysis and control problems are studied in [11,12,13,18], and the fuzzy filtering problems with the given pre-specified performance are investigated in [1,44].…”
