Abstract: Probiotic lactic acid bacteria have emerged as a natural alternative treatment for cancer in recent years. Indigenous probiotic lactic acid bacteria isolated from beef, Lactobacillus plantarum IIA-1A5 and Lactobacillus acidophilus IIA-2B4, have displayed in vitro anticancer activities against cervical and colorectal cancer cells.
