Fatal spontaneous intraperitoneal hemorrhage in association with apixaban: A case report

Abstract:We present the case of an 80-year-old gentleman with a spontaneous intraperitoneal hemorrhage secondary to direct oral anticoagulant (DOAC) medication. As far as we are aware this is the third documented case of spontaneous intraperitoneal hemorrhage in association with direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) therapy.
