“…A NEP of about 1.1 pW/Hz 0.5 can be estimated at the bias voltage of 40 mV. The device performances of the THz QCL and the THz QWP exhibit the applicability to the fast THz imaging system ( Qiu et al., 2019 ).…”

“…The polarization of THz QWP and THz QCL can be designed to be consistent with each other to improve the collection efficiency of the THz wave. Therefore, THz QCLs can be applied in the THz imaging ( Qiu et al., 2019 ) in conjunction with the frequency-matched THz QWPs. Compared with the time-domain spectrometer (TDS)-based commercial s-SNOM setup (Neaspec GmbH), the high-power QCL-based system is beneficial for the nanoscale observation of graphene plasmonics, polariton mapping in 2D materials, and subsurface chemical nano-identification.…”

“…Wang Chang from SIMIT set up a reflective THz fast confocal imaging system [28](Figure 4). The THz light source used was 4.3 THz QCL, with a THz QWP and fast-rotating translation platform to complete the fast scanning imaging of the sample.…”

“…The terahertz quantum‐cascade lasers (QCLs) are considered to be the most effective light source in the frequency of 2–5 THz. The terahertz QCL and the frequency‐matched terahertz quantum‐well photodetectors (QWP) have been employed together to build the terahertz scanning imaging systems [2]. The common imaging system acquires the information at different positions of the object by moving the object [3].…”
