Fast speciation analysis of iodophenol compounds in river waters by capillary electrophoresis‐inductively coupled plasma‐mass spectrometry with off‐line solid‐phase microextraction

Abstract: An analytical methodology for the fast separation and determination of iodophenol species in natural water samples was developed using capillary electrophoresis (CE) coupled to inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). Based on the element-specific and highly sensitive detection provided by ICP-MS, the methodology has been applied to the analysis of 2-iodophenol, 4-iodophenol, and 2,4,6-triiodophenol. The use of solid-phase microextraction (SPME), after proper optimization, improved the signal by … Show more

“…For an introduction [10] and [39] are recommended readings. Peak area RSD% values between 9.9 and 16.5% (n = 5) for metallothionein [40], 5.0% (n = 10) for iodophenols [41], and 3.5-6.2% (n = 8) for arsenic compounds [42] were obtained with this method.…”

“…The proposed procedure allowed the identification of several inorganic and organic manganese species in the investigated tissue. Iodine disinfection by-products, in particular iodphenols, were determined in river water by Kannamkumarath et al [194]. Their method involves offline SPME followed by analysis of the extracts using CE coupled to ICP-MS. Sulfur containing amino acids were investigated employing CE-ICP-MS with a dynamic reaction cell by Yeh et al [195].…”
