“…The algorithm of this software package is based on a uni versal thermodynamic method of determining the equilibrium characteristics of arbitrary heterogeneous systems based on the entropy maximum principle. The temperature was chosen to be 900 K, since this fuel can be used in fast reactors with operating tempera tures of 900-1000 K [7]. To choose the burn up frac tion, we used the values achieved to date [8].…”

“…The thermophysical and mass/size characteristics of a dual-wall steam generator were calculated for a variant of its connection to the BN-800 first loop [6] and compared with the parameters of a single-wall BN-800 steam generator connected to the second loop. The characteristics of the dual-wall steam generator (evaporator and heater in a single vessel) with lead-bismuth and sodium as the intermediate medium, placed in the first loop, as compared with an analogous single-wall BN-800 module in the 70 MW(t) second loop, 349 heat-transferring water tubes each with dimension 16 × 2.5 mm, live steam temperature 490°C, and feed medium temperature 210°C are as follows: Analysis shows that because the total temperature differential between the sodium at the reactor exit and the livesteam temperature is used it is possible to obtain for dual-wall steam generators a satisfactory length for the heat-transferring tubes and acceptable mass characteristics, especially with sodium as the intermediate medium.…”
