“…To evaluate the effect of the functionalization on the surface acidity of the tin oxide, IEC values of both oxide powders were measured and they were found to be 0.352 meq g -1 and 1.42 meq g -1 , for SnO 2 ·nH 2 O and S-SnO 2 , respectively. These values are in good agreement with ion-exchange capacity of metal oxides including hydrated tin oxide [40][41][42]. The increased IEC of the sulfated sample revealed the enhanced acidity of S-SnO 2 with respect to SnO 2 ·nH 2 O provided by the surface functionalization of the filler.…”

“…These parameters vary with pH and extent of desiccation. England et al [23] passed a solution of KSb(OH) 6 in boiling water through an ion exchange column in the H + form and obtained HSbO 3 ؒ2H 2 O by aging the solution at 80 °C for 4 days. Its structure was solved with H 2 O and H 3 O + occupying sites 16d and 8b (50 and 100 % occupied, respectively) in the archetypal perovskite lattice.…”

“…observed was 2.0045 and the peak-to-peak linewidth (∆B) was 8.3 G. In the CAA/PANI-1, the values were g = 2.0048 and ∆B = 2.9 G. Figure 5-a shows the X-ray pattern of CAA. It is typical of a cubic pyrochlore-like structure 28 and shows that the solid is well crystallized. The XRD patterns of both CAA/ PPy and CAA/PANI-1 hybrids, shown in Figures 5-b and 5-c, respectively, do not exhibit marked differences with respect to pure CAA pattern.…”

“…This inorganic material represented by H 2 Sb 2 O 6 .nH 2 O shows protonexchange reactions, exhibits high protonic conductivities and negligible electronic conductivity 26,27 . It has a pyrochlore-like structure, with a characteristic structural feature formed by a [Sb 2 O 6 2-] n three-dimensional framework built up from infinite chains of corner-shared SbO 6 octahedra 28 . Water molecules and acidic protons occupy the interconnected interstitial cavities within the framework 28 .…”
