“…XPS, MRS, and HRTEM are commonly utilized to evaluate efficiency and selectivity of the chemical oxidation of CNTs, as well as side effects on the structure of the graphitic network . The quantitative analysis of survey and high‐resolution XPS spectra allows determining elemental composition of the samples, and identifying and quantifying surface‐oxygenated groups . In turn, from these results, the oxidation degree of CNTs and the selectivity towards the formation of a specific oxygenated moiety can be assessed.…”

“…The peak at 1082 cm −1 comes from the stretching vibrations of C O in ethers while the peak at 1240 cm −1 comes from the stretching vibrations of C O in phenols (Chen et al, 2009). The peak at 1377 cm −1 might be attributed to the bending vibrations of O H in carboxyl groups (Kolacyak et al, 2011). The peak at 1528 cm −1 can be assigned to the stretching vibrations of aromatic rings (Ghazali et al, 2012), a peak at 1731 cm −1 may be attributed to the stretching vibrations of C O in carbonyls and carboxyls (Chen et al, 2009) and a peak at 3430 cm −1 is due to the stretching vibrations of O H in adsorbed water (Chen et al, 2012b).…”

“…Plasma, a partially ionized gas, has proven to have a broad range of industrial and biomedical applications (Bogaerts et al, ; Chen, ; Daeschlein et al, ; Fricke et al, ; Kolacyak et al, ; Park et al, ; Plimpton et al, ). Cold atmospheric plasma (CAP) in general is plasma generated at atmospheric pressure and its rotational temperatures (gas temperatures) are close to ambient temperatures.…”
