Fast detection of breast position for 3D USCT

Abstract: The 3D USCT II system needs a method to localize and reposition a non-centrally positioned breast. A novel imaging technique (IIT) was introduced to retrieve intersection images of breasts. By detecting the breast deviation direction from these images, the breast position can be estimated. This method limits the amount of data and speeds up the data transmission by producing only 2D images and generalizing the breast as convex.
