Çocukların güvenliği ve sağlığı, mobilya ve giysilerinde kullanılan malzemeler söz konusu olduğunda en önemli öncelik olmalıdır. Mobilya üretiminde kimyasal kullanımının hem olumlu hem de olumsuz etkileri vardır. Kimyasallar mobilya ürünlerinin kalitesini ve dayanıklılığını artırabilirken, kullanıcılar için sağlık riskleri oluşturabilir. Araştırmalar, zararlı kimyasallara maruz kalmanın çocukların sağlığı üzerinde uzun vadeli olumsuz etkileri olabileceğini göstermiştir, bu da çocuk odaları için mobilya seçimini ebeveynler için önemli bir karar haline getirmektedir. Bu çalışmada, Ankara’da yaşayan ebeveynlerin çocuk odası mobilyalarında bulunan organik kimyasallara ilişkin bilgi düzeylerinin belirlenmesine odaklanılmıştır. Bu amaçla hazırlanan araştırma anketini tesadüfi olarak belirlenen 118 katılımcı doldurmuştur. Anketlerden elde edilen verilere göre, çocuk odalarında bulunan mobilyalar ve kullanılan malzemeler ile satın alınırken dikkate alınan hususlar belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca, farklı cinsiyet, yaş ve eğitim düzeyine sahip ebeveynlerin çocuk odası mobilyalarından iç mekana maruz kalınan kimyasallar hakkında yeterince bilgi sahibi olmadıkları bulunmuştur.

The results obtained and the recommendations developed for this study, which was carried out to determine whether the parents had information about the harmful effects of organic chemicals emitted from the children's room equipment elements on human health, are systematically explained below. Figure A. The level of knowledge about organic chemicals emitted from children's room equipment elements according to parents' educationPurpose: In this study, it was aimed to determine whether parents of different ages, genders and educational levels living in Ankara have knowledge about the harmful effects of organic chemicals spreading from children's room equipment elements on human health.Theory and Methods: The questionnaire, developed for this purpose, was applied to 205 people selected by random method. As a result, it was determined that the parents did not have enough information about the organic chemicals coming out of the children's room equipment elements.Results: Regarding the subject, it is seen that the participants aged 25-45 have less knowledge than the older people of 46 and above, while the secondary students have less knowledge than the higher education. However, no significant difference was found between the evaluations of participants with different genders in general. As a result, informing and raising awareness of users on this subject may enable the producer sector to reduce the use of materials that negatively affect human health. Conclusion:These results show that the parents do not have enough information about the organic chemicals emitted from the children's room equipment elements. Based on these results, people can stay mentally and physically healthy, indoor air quality is at least as clean as outdoor air quality, less damage to the natural environment, a sustainable world, healthy and successful generations, family integrity can be preserved for a long time and happy and It is essential to control indoor pollutants for a peaceful society.

The results obtained from this study and the recommendations developed in order to determine whether the wood and composite panel powders in furniture producing enterprises have effects on human health are systematically explained below. Figure A. Dust emission measurement values according to the machines used by the enterprises Purpose: This research aims to determine the effects of wood and composite panel dust on human health in furniture producing enterprises. Theory and Methods: For this aim, dust measurements and observations were conducted in 20 different establishments. Dust measurements of all establishments were made with Personal Dust Exposure Meter (TSI SIDEPAK AM 510).Results: Dust measurement average of all enterprises is 1,43 mg/m3 and instantaneous maximum dust measurement value is determined as 19,46 mg/m3. Dust values were measured as 1,89 mg/m3 in smallscale enterprises, 0,96 mg/m3 in medium-sized enterprises, 1,27 mg/m3 in wood processing enterprises and 1,58 mg/m3 in composite processing enterprises. Single and multiple variables (operating sizes, operating types, ventilation systems, machines used) have various effects on dust exposure levels. Conclusion:Considering that chemicals in wood and composite panel dusts may cause these discomforts, it is concluded that employees should be given rotation and protective measures should be taken. It should not be forgotten that occupational health and safety measures are of vital importance to be taken by businesses, and employees should be made aware of occupational safety training and inservice training. Studies should be made to gain the habit of using protective equipment. A number of possible health problems will be prevented by applying rotation to employees with high dust exposure.
