The article looks into the issue of social adaptation and personal adjustment of people with disabilities through their active participation in regular classes of adaptive exercise therapy. Based on state statistics, scientific publications analysis and research work a hypothesis was put forward that there is an additional factor that plays a significant role in the family upbringing scheme and helps to foster interest in adaptive exercise therapy and adaptive sports among intellectually impaired children. The purpose of the study was to identify a factor or group of factors in the family upbringing scheme which are relevant to methodology of arranging PE and sports events for children with intellectual disabilities. The sample group consisted of women whose children, including those with intellectual disabilities, attended sports schools in Russia. Among the methods applied during the study there were psychodiagnostic methods of written and oral interviews, questionnaires. The results of the procedures of statistical and factor analysis revealed destructive aspects in the field of child-parent relationship as well as interpersonal relationship. The family dysfunctions correction will make it possible to apply integrative technologies in organizing sports and recreational events for families where children with intellectual disabilities are brought up.

The aim of this paper is to study the development of self-control abilities in children of primary school age. The main mechanisms for the formation of self-regulation of children of primary school age are revealed. Such concepts as self-regulation, self-control, processes of mental self-regulation, structural components of self-regulation, behavioral control, ethno-cultural characteristics and styles of family relations are analyzed. The main context of the study is the study of the development of behavioral control within the framework of child-parent relations among the families of the Northern nationalities. The article presents data on behavioral control in children from families with different ethnic and cultural affiliation. The children of primary school age from 129 families took part in the survey: 42 families of Evens living in the native territory of Yakutia, 43 families of the country’s rural area, 44 Russian-speaking families of the city of Yakutsk. The following methods were used: Wechler’s test Children’s version. Subtest 11 “Coding” and the technique “Voluntary control (control actions): neuropsychological tasks” A.R. Luria. It was found that children from urban families, in comparison with rural families and traditional life-style families, are more likely have a low level of cognitive control and control of actions, but a high level of control of actions is observed less often.

This empirical study compared the mental (intellectual, personal, emotional, social) and physical development of four-year-old children conceived by assisted reproduction technology (ART) with that of naturally conceived children. The sample consisted of 90 ART children and 130 spontaneously conceived children (control). The research revealed no significant differences in behavior, emotional development, gender roles, intellectual development (visual-motor coordination, logical thinking, vocabulary, conceptual knowledge, speech development, counting and reading skills), physical development, emotional and behavioral eating habits, and dental health. The ART children demonstrated significantly higher symptoms of social developmental disorders and lower levels of categorizing skills, with a low effect size. The article introduces significant relationships across various components of mental development, as well as between mental and physical development of ART children vs. control. The majority of preschool children conceived by ART had normative development, but the study revealed a risk group and problem areas of development, which require monitoring and early correction.
