Central to this study is the lived experiences of parents of children with physical disability. This study was conducted at Barangay Poblacion 8, Midsayap, Cotabato. It included as participants purposively chosen parents of children with physical disability. Their ages ranged from 31 to 53 years old, and were all mothers. The physical disabilities of their children were either musculoskeletal (orthopaedic) or visual. This study made use of the phenomenological research design. Findings bared that despite the apparent conditions of their children, the participants joyfully and with gratitude accepted their children as blessings from God. They spent bonding moments with them, and at times appreciative of their learning of new things, and were busy taking good care of the total well-being of their children. They were aware of their children’s limitations, but they do not consider them as different. Nevertheless, they sought acceptance, respect, and understanding from others. The participants were concerned about the health issues of their children, anxious about the mistreatment they received from others, and pondered on their possible rejection in the future. The participants stood by their children and draw strength from God. They look at the bright side of life and hope that their children finish studying. Family functioning, family resilience, family health, and family flourishing are concepts used in research across multiple fields. One challenge of their interdisciplinary use is that there are a variety of definitions of each, with researchers sometimes creating their own definitions rather than using well‐established definitions. This can lead to different conceptualization of the same concept across studies. It is, therefore, necessary to develop a conceptual framework to understand the interplay between each of these family concepts, including their differences and overlap, to inform research, practice, and policy. In this article, we present the definitions, concepts, and common measurements of each concept. Based on the examination of the literature, we propose a conceptual framework of family well‐being that demonstrates the interplay of these concepts. We present empirical findings to understand how well some common measures differentiate between each other. Finally, we discuss the implications for research and practice.

Attachment resilience is the ability of attachment relationships to survive adversity and maintain their functions in the face of stress and is a critical component of personal and family resilience. This property is the result of interactive influences across multiple systems of care. In this way, security is transferred across what we call chains of security. This paper will delve into how family keyworkers (i.e., professionals who are referential and responsible for family intervention plans) function as a critical link within these chains of security for hard‐to‐reach families: first, through attachment‐like relationships that foster attachment resilience within families that are vulnerable or face adversity, and second, as receptors and transmitters of security by means of attachment‐centered supervision. Sensitivity, repair, and mentalization are highlighted as key processes constant across these multisystemic levels.
