“…The Epinette Formation (Conil & Lys, 1968, 1970 (thickness: c. 116 m in the Avesnelles railway section; see below) is essentially shaly with beds of limestone and nodular limestone. It includes rugose corals and the first stromatoporoids known in the area since their demise at the end of the Frasnian (Conil & Lys, 1970;Poty, 1999).
