BACKGROUND: To realize the optimal growth and development of the baby, ideally the mother should only give breast milk, from immediately after giving birth until the baby is 6 months old, which is commonly known as exclusive breastfeeding. However, the facts on the ground show that many mothers fail to give breast milk to their babies, so an effective solution is needed. AIM: The purpose of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of peer counseling for postpartum mothers in order to increase the success of breastfeeding in the working area of Jenu Health Center, Tuban Regency, Indonesia. METHODS: This study was an experimental study that applied a static group comparison design. The research subjects were 18 postpartum mothers who were selected by simple random sampling technique, then divided into a treatment group that received peer counseling and a control group, each consisting of 9 postpartum mothers. For both groups, breastfeeding success was measured by means of observation. Furthermore, the difference in breastfeeding success between the two groups was tested using an independent sample t-test. RESULTS: The results of data analysis showed that the mean of successful breastfeeding in the treatment group was higher (77.31%), while the control group was lower (72.22%). The results of the independent sample t-test showed t = 3.731082, with p value = 0.00278070, so it could be interpreted that there was a significant difference in breastfeeding success between postpartum mothers who received and did not receive peer counseling. CONCLUSION: Furthermore, it can be concluded that peer counseling is effective in increasing the success of breastfeeding by postpartum mothers in the working area of Jenu Health Center, Tuban Regency.

ABSTRAK ASI merupakan makanan alami terbaik dengan kandungan lengkap untuk memenuhi kebutuhan nutrisi dan energi bayi. Manfaatnya dapat memberikan imunitas bawaan dari ibu sehingga bayi mendapat perlindungan dari bebagai infeksi. Salah satu masalah yang sering terjadi pada ibu menyusui yaitu ketidaklancaran produksi ASI. Beberapa ibu cemas dan beranggapan ASI yang diproduksi hanya sedikit yang menyebabkan frekuensi menyusui berkurang bahkan berhenti. Hal tersebut akan mengakibatkan rangsangan pada hormon prolaktin dan okstitosin turun sehingga produksi ASI semakin berkurang. Pengetahuan ibu sangat penting untuk mendukung keberhasilan cakupan ASI sampai anak berusia 2 tahun. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan ibu dan kader kesehatan tentang pentingnya edukasi tentang pijat oksitosin dan kiat bagaimana meningkatkan produksi ASI bagi ibu bayi 0-1 tahun. Kegiatan ini berupa penyampaian materi dengan menggunakan software microsoft power point. Jumlah mitra yang menjadi sasaran adalah ibu bayi (0-1 tahun) sebanyak 5 orang dan 5 orang kader kesehatan. Hasil yang dicapai adalah peningkatan pengetahuan mitra dengan rerata hasil pretest adalah 7,1 dan hasil posttest adalah 9,2. Pengetahuan ibu bayi 0-1 tahun dan kader mengalami peningkatan signifikan. Saran kegiatan pengabdian selanjutnya adalah adanya pendampingan dan edukasi mengenai MPASI sebagai persiapan menghadapi masa berakhirnya ASI ekskusif dan memenuhi kebutuhan makan bayi sesuai dengan tahapan perkembangan usia. Kata Kunci: ASI Booster, Pijat Oksitosin, Bayi, Ibu. ABSTRACT Breast milk is the best natural food with complete ingredients to meet the nutritional and energy needs of babies. The benefit is that it can provide innate immunity from the mother so that the baby gets protection from various infections. One of the problems that often occurs in breastfeeding mothers is the lack of smooth breast milk production. Some mothers are worried and think that only a small amount of breast milk is produced, which causes the frequency of breastfeeding to decrease or even stop. This will cause stimulation of the hormones prolactin and oxytocin to decrease so that breast milk production decreases. Maternal knowledge is very important to support successful breastfeeding coverage until the child is 2 years old. The aim of this activity is to increase the knowledge of mothers and health workers about the importance of education about oxytocin massage and tips on how to increase breast milk production for mothers of babies 0-1 years old. This activity takes the form of delivering material using Microsoft Power Point software. The number of partners targeted is 5 mothers of babies (0-1 years) and 5 health cadres. Results: The results achieved were an increase in partner knowledge with the average pretest result being 7.1 and posttest result being 9.2. Knowledge of mothers of 0-1 year old babies and cadres has increased significantly. The next recommendation for community service activities is to provide assistance and education regarding MPASI as preparation for the end of exclusive breastfeeding and to meet the baby's food needs according to age development stages. Background: Working breastfeeding mothers generally have obstacles in achieving the success of exclusive breastfeeding. This becomes a challenge for working mothers, especially if health workers are to exclusively breastfeed their children for up to 6 months. Purpose: This study aims to determine the factors associated with exclusive breastfeeding for working mothers in health agencies in Pringsewu District, Lampung Province. Methods: This study used an observational analytic method with a cross-sectional study design. The research subjects were working mothers with a total of 93 people in the Pringsewu District Health Agency. Data analysis was carried out in univariate stages using frequency distribution, for bivariate analysis using the chi-square test. Multivariate analysis using multiple logistic regression. Results: The results showed that the factors related to the success of exclusive breastfeeding in working mothers in health institutions were the availability of a lactation corner (p-value = 0.04; OR 0.38: 95% CI: 0.16-0.9) and leadership support. (p-value = 0.006; OR 3.87), Meanwhile, there is no relationship between the availability of breastfeeding counselors. The most dominant factor related to exclusive breastfeeding for working mothers is leadership support (p-value=0.003; ORa=4.46). Conclusion: This study shows that the work environment, both leadership support, and the availability of breastfeeding corners are significantly related to the success of exclusive breastfeeding in mothers working in the office. Agency leaders should provide policies that support mothers to exclusively breastfeed their babies.AbstrakLatar Belakang: Ibu menyusui bekerja umumnya memiliki hambatan dalam mencapai keberhasilan pemberian air susu ibu secara eksklusif. Ini menjadi menjadi tantangan bagi ibu bekerja terutama bila tenaga kesehatan untuk menyusui anaknya sampai 6 bulan secara ekskluasif. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor yang berhubungan dengan pemberian air susu ibu secara eksklusif pada ibu bekerja di Instansi kesehatan sekabupaten Pringsewu Provinsi Lampung. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analitik observasioanl dengan rancangan studi cross cetional. Subjek penelitian adalah ibu bekerja dengan jumlah 93 orang di Instansi Kesehatan Kabupatan Pringsewu. Analisis data dilakukan secara bertahap univariat menggunakan distribusi frekuensi, untuk analisis bivariate menggunakan uji chi square. Analisis multivariate menggunakan uji regresi logistik ganda. Hasil: Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa faktor yang berhubungan dengan keberhasilan ASI eksklusif pada ibu bekerja di instansi Kesehatan adalah ketersedian pojok latasi (p-value=0,04; OR 0,38: 95% CI: 0,16-0,9) dan dukungan atasan (p-value=0,006; OR 3,87), Sedangkan, variabel ketersedian konselor menyusui tidak ada hubungan. Faktor yang paling dominan yang berhubungan dengan pemberian ASI eksklusif pada ibu bekerja adalah atasan langsung (p-value=0,003; ORa=4,46). Simpulan: Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa lingkungan kerja, baik dukungan pimpinan maupun tersedia pojok pemberian air susu ibu berhubungan signifikan dengan keberhasilan ASI eksklusif pada Ibu bekerja di kantor. Para pimpinan Instansi hendaknya memberikan kebijakan yang menunjang Ibu memberikan air susu ibu secara eksklusif kepada bayinya.
