Tobacco farmers are individuals who are members of farming groups engaged in the cultivation of the agricultural sector in the form of tobacco. When carrying out tobacco cultivation activities, farmers are vulnerable to work accidents. The purpose of this research was to describe the characteristics of work accidents on tobacco farmers in Kalisat District, Jember Regency. The research design used descriptive quantitative. This research employed a purposive sampling technique, with a total of 97 tobacco farmers as respondents. The research data were collected through a demographic questionnaire and a work accident accident questionnaire. In the type indicator, it was found that 43.3% farmers often experienced incidents of being hit by immovable objects. In the object indicator, 36.1% farmers often experience accidents due to work equipment. In the indicator of the nature of the wound 26.8% farmers often experienced minor injuries and 9.3% stated that they always experienced these incidents. In the indicator of the location of the wound, farmers often experienced injuries on the hands, namely 36.1%. In the cause indicator, 66.0% farmers stated that they rarely use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). According to the results of this study, work accidents among tobacco farmers in Kalisat District are still highly prevalent. This research will be utilized as a preventative and assessment tool for public health center in the application of UKK and for PPL to develop outreach activities in order to reduce the number of work accidents. Pestisida dapat menyebabkan masalah kesehatan baik akut ataupun kronik. Latar belakang dari penelitian ini adalah Penggunaan pestisida di kawasan agroindustri Jember yang tidak dapat dihindari.. Paparan pestisida pada petani Jember, baik paparan langsung ataupun tidak langsung, diduga menjadi salah satu penyebab munculnya masalah kesehatan.. Keterkaitan antar penggunaan bahan aktif pestisida dan masalah kesehatan pada petani di wilayah agroindustri jember perlu diteliti. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penggunaan jumlah bahan aktif pestisida dengan banyaknya masalah kesehatan pada petani di wilayah Agroindustri Jember. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif observational dengan pendekatan cross-sectional. Populasi yang diambil adalah petani yang berada di kabupaten jember yang diwakili oleh 11 kecamatan. Besar sampel berjumlah 84 orang yang diambil dengan accidental sampling. Variabel yang diambil adalah jenis pestisida, jumlah bahan aktif yang dipakai, keluhan masalah kesehatan, Analisis menggunakan analisis unvaried dan bivariate menggunakan Chi square tes dengan p <0,05. Penggunaan bahan aktif yang digunakan selama penyemprotan mayoritas 1 bahan aktif 51,19% .Keluhan masalah kesehatan sebesar 52,38% dengan keluhan terbanyak adalah pusing sebesar 29,76%.Hasil Analisis jumlah bahan aktif saat penyemprotan dengan banyaknya keluhan kesehatan dengan menggunakan Chi Square tes, p= 0,009 dengan nilai p<0,05. Dari penelitian ini didapatkan ada hubungan penggunaan bahan aktif residu pestisida dengan keluhan masalah kesehatan pada petani di Jember. Petani yang terpapar kebanyakan tidak merasakan keluhan kesehatan.

According to Hidayanti and Kasman (2018), having a mature age and long working period do not guarantee that workers are obedient in using PPE. Another research of Damalas and Abdollahzadeh (2016) also explains that there is no relationship between age and compliance behavior to use PPE because older age can have adverse effects for workers such as burnout and laziness to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) compared to younger workers.…”

Introduction: Ear protection equipment is indispensable for workers exposed to noise exceeding the threshold value. Introduction: Many studies have shown that the level of labor compliance with the use of ear protection equipment is influenced by the length of work and age of the workers concerned. However, many studies also show different conditions with the results of these studies. For this reason, this study was conducted to determine how the influence of the work period and age of workers on the compliance with the use of ear protection equipment at PT X animal feed industry. Methods: The method used was observational with a cross-sectional approach. The number of population selected from animal feed production workers was 30 workers. The sample was obtained using a simple random sampling calculation of 28 workers. The analysis was done using contingency coefficient statistical tests. Results: The number of workers in the study area whose tenure <12 years is 50% and whose age <37 years is was also 50%. By using the contingency coefficient, it is known that there are 39.3% and 35.7% of 64.3% of workers who were not compliant with the useof ear protection equipment, each having a work period of <12 years and age <37 years respectively. It is also known that work period and age of workers have a Sig (0.115)> α (0.05) and Sig (0.430)> α (0.05) accordingly, which means there is no relationship between work period and the age of the workers with the compliance with the use of ear protection equipment. Conclusion: The reasons of the non-compliance of workers with the use of ear protection equipment are they feel uncomfortable, they have a lack of supervision, as well as they have a lack of motivation work.age, animal feed, compliance, ear protection equipment, years of service
