Failure Modes and Effect Analysis of Gear Pair

Abstract: In the present study, the failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA) process has been used to determine the probable failure mechanisms of gear pairs and their implications on the performance, availability, and cost. The risk priority number (RPN) is calculated to rank the failure modes and identify high-risk failures. The methods are proposed to minimize high-risk failure modes.
