Abstract:RESUMOEsquistossomose mansônica persiste como problema médico-social no nordeste brasileiro. Em crianças, o tratamento cirúrgico inclui esplenectomia e auto-implante esplênico. Este procedimento reduz a septicemia pós-esplenectomia.
