Abstract: Study Objective: to investigate the factors related to diabetes mellitus in the middle-aged and over in Taiwan. Method: data from seven surveys (in 1989–2011) from the “Taiwan Longitudinal Study on Aging” (TLSA), among cohort B (above the age 60 in 1989), cohort A (aged 50–66 in 1996), and cohort C (aged 50–66 in 2003), were analyzed by the interval-censored Cox model. “…The possible reason for this observation is that CKD patients aged ≥65 years are known to have many traditional risk factors of IS that could substantially elevate the risk of IS. ( Peng et al, 2011 ; Liang et al, 2020 ; Tsao et al, 2021 ). CHM may exert a potential effect in ameliorating the impact of comorbidities ( Wang J. et al, 2012 ; Agyemang et al, 2013 ; Wang et al, 2017 ; Gao et al, 2018 ) thus conducing to the decreased risk of IS in this age group.…”

“…The survey applied a complex sampling survey design with aged‐in cohorts to represent distributions of middle‐aged and older adults in Taiwan. The survey took the household registration population over the age of 60 in 331 townships (excluding mountain villages) in Taiwan as the sample population (aged population), and 4412 samples were selected by stratified multi‐level random sampling (Liang et al, 2020). Individuals 60 years of age or older were eligible.…”
