In 2015, the results of United Nations research called out Indonesia as the second-largest contributor to plastic waste in the ocean, following China. This problem was, absolutely, inseparable from improper waste disposal behavior. This recent research was intended to prove the theory of planned behavior in the issue of throwing garbage in public places. Variables included in this case were attitude, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, and intention. Questionnaires were distributed online and offline to people who had thrown out their garbage in public places. A total of 396 respondents were obtained, and the Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) method of the Structural Equation Model (SEM) was used in this research with IBM SPSS 25 and AMOS 24 tools. This research found that the good value of public place visitors’ attitudes would develop their intention of throwing garbage properly. Visitors misunderstood the function of the cleaning service officers. They considering that their garbage would be taken care of by the cleaning service officers. The availability of trash cans in public places would support the visitors’ behavior in managing their garbage.

Residents’ Green Purchasing Intentions in a Developing-Country Context: Integrating PLS-SEM and MGA Methods

This paper aims to examine the determinants of green purchasing intentions among different resident groups in a developing-country context. We first expand the theory of planned behaviour (TPB) and build a theoretical model based on green purchasing intention, including attitude, perceived behavioural control, subjective norms, environmental concern, habit, and socio-demographic characteristics (i.e., age, gender, residential area, and educational level). Following this, we collect 552 questionnaires from residents in Tianjin Municipality, China. We use partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) to analyse the green purchasing intention of the population sample and then employ a multi-group analysis (MGA) to explore the group differences in residents' green purchasing intention. The results show that green purchasing intention is significantly and positively influenced by attitude, perceived behavioural control, subjective norms, and environmental concern but not by habit. The relationship chain of environmental concern→subjective norms→purchasing intention is the strongest. The results of the MGA show that for residential-area groups, the relationships between attitudes, perceived behavioural control, and habits and purchasing intention differ significantly between the downtown group and the outside-the-city group. For the educational-level groups, the relationship between environmental concern and subjective norms differs significantly between the high-education group and the low-education group. Finally, these findings contribute to the literature on the TPB model on green purchasing intention and provide some suggestions for the local government and green marketers.

Litter left behind on tourist trails is a persistent problem in national parks, regardless of the country in which the park is situated. The present article analyses the amount of waste on tourist trails in the most popular natural park in Poland, Tatra National Park (TNP), a small area of a mountainous character which is heavily used by tourists. Tourists who use the Tatra trails leave from 140 to 180 m 3 solid waste there per year. Its presence in parks, as well as being unsightly, is a potential risk for fauna and flora. 90% of the waste collected from the trails in TNP is hard or non-biodegradable waste. The waste from TNP's tourists trails needs to be considered in its totality, as recyclable fractions make up about 70% of all rubbish disposed of, and so areas such as TNP should be subject to organized waste management. It was found that the particular strategy implemented significantly affects the amount of waste from the tourist trails that is actually collected and disposed of. The key element for the efficient functioning of the waste-management strategy is the consistent implementation of an action plan that takes into account the specific nature of the area and the principles under which it is made available to tourists. Particularly significant are the frequency and regularity with which rubbish is removed. Moreover, there is a need to raise public awareness regarding waste left on tourists trails in TNP.
