Factors influencing technology adoption of people with visual impairment: Case study of financial transactions through an automatic teller machine (ATM)

Abstract: Natural rubber on the world market has had small increases in demand and big increases in supply. Therefore, demand and supply are imbalanced and this impacts the natural rubber price of the world market causing a decline. This study aimed: (1) to develop de-mand and supply models to predict the world natural rubber quantity using simultaneous equations;(2) to predict all explanatory variables in the demand and supply models using the simple moving average technique; and (3) to estimate the equilibrium quantit… Show more

“…Moreover, including information on who is sponsoring the survey and offering a phone number for participants to call and verify the survey source may help improve participation. Our findings are similar to others who have explored acceptance of e-interventions such as students’ use of e-learning platforms [37] and the general population’s use of e-banking [38]. The use of financial incentives has been found to increase the behavioral intentions of students, farmers, and the general population to adopt a new technology [39-41].…”

“…Research into assistive technology adoption with BLV users surprisingly involves very little research into screen readers. Past research regarding a case study with BLV users and an ATM does indicate that aspects such as social acceptance, ease of use and usefulness of existing devices have an influence on technology adoption, but a similar study regarding specifically screen readers was unable to be found (Korwatanasakul, 2020) Four participants, all with some level of visual impairment and 3 of which used screen readers extensively, were recruited from the Disability Resource Office at North Carolina State University. The remaining participant mentioned that they use other forms of accessibility technology but chose not to elaborate.…”
