The development of the capital market in Indonesia is very significant, with the implementation of the Yuk Savings Stock campaign to increase the number of domestic investors in Indonesia. The Indonesian Central Securities Depository (KSEI) noted that as of August 9, 2019, the number of capital market investors reached 2,070,394 people, an increase of 27.8 percent from the position in December 2018. This study aimed to find out and analyze Investment Knowledge on Attitudes, Investment Motivation on Attitudes, Perceptions of Risks towards Attitudes, Attitudes Influence Interests, Subjective Norms Affect Investment Interests, and Investment Interests Affect Investors Behavior in Sharia Capital MarketsThe population in this study are Islamic Capital Market investors in the DIY & Central Java region. Samples taken in this study are some Shariah Investors in DIY & Central Java, which total 213 respondents. Sampling using non-probability techniques with convenience sampling method and research models will be analyzed using Structural Equation Model (SEM), using the help of AMOS software.The results of this study indicate that investment knowledge has a significant negative effect on attitude, investment motivation has a significant positive effect on attitude, perception of risk has a significant negative effect on attitude, attitude has a significant positive effect on interest, subjective norms has a significant positive effect on interest and interest has a significant positive effect on investor behavior.Keywords: Investment Knowledge, Investment Motivation, Risk Perception, Attitude, Subjective Norms, Investment Interest, Investor Behavior

An Empirical Study on the Determinants of an Investor’s Decision in Unit Trust Investment

Unit trust is a convenient way of investing and a sensible way to build one’s wealth in the medium term and subsequently in the long-term. Investment specialists will manage the investments and spread the risks through careful diversification. The basic nature of the unit trust is that it carries a low-level of risks and accordingly determines a lower level of returns compared to other financial instruments. There is a lack of research that empirically investigates the factors that influence an investor’s decision in unit trust investment, particularly in a Malaysian setting. The purpose of this study is to analyse the factors that influence an investor’s investment decision in purchasing a unit trust. This paper aims to narrow this research gap, whereby financial status, risk taking behaviour, investment revenue and related information are hypothesized to exert statistically significant influences on the investor’s decision in unit trust investment. The empirical study uses a quantitative research approach whereby survey data have been sampled from 202 participants using a convenient sampling technique. This research is cross-sectional and uses primary data for analysis. Data analysis has been carried out using multiple regression analysis. The empirical research finds that financial status, risk taking behaviour, and sources of information significantly influence the investors’ investment behaviours in unit trusts. However, there was not enough evidence to support the claims that investment return and revenue have a statistical relationship to the investors investment behaviours regarding unit trusts. The findings from this research will have huge implications for investors and for financial institutions. This paper helps fund managers and brokers to understand the behaviours of an individual investor in response to a unit trust. On the other hand, this helps them to better target their customers, and persuade customers to make their investments in a unit trust effectively and efficiently, thereby helping them to manage their financial wealth with less risk but better future prospects.

The Effect of Financial Literacy, Investment Decision, and Overconfidence on Mental Accounting in The Term of Investing in Cryptocurrency

Investment is a financial activity known by many people. With the advance of technology, people can now invest in digital currency. The purpose of this study is we would like to know the factors affecting mental accounting. Whether financial literacy, investment decision, and overconfidence affect mental accounting regarding investment activities in cryptocurrency. To do this, we use a quantitative method with six-point Likert scale questionnaires as a measurement to collect samples. The questionnaires are shared with individuals from different regions that have or do not have an experience in investing activities. In addition, the demographic is further categorized into age, gender, and education level. We got 279 samples, mainly from Southeast Asia and a few from East Asia, Europe, and North America. The data will be processed using SEM-PLS software to conduct the result. The finding implies that investing in cryptocurrency is strongly affected by the investor’s behaviour, such as mental accounting. Overconfidence is a significant factor contributing to investors’ mental accounting and investment decisions, while financial literacy is only associated with decision-making and not related to mental accounting.
