This study was conducted to examine the impact of demographic attributes on the usage of information and communication technologies (ICTs) among dairy farmers in District Sheikhupura, which is a prominent area in terms of dairy potential and dairy households. The use of ICTs was aimed at improving dairy farm productivity through extended awareness and adoption of recommendations. Tota 383 randomly selected respondents were interviewed face to face on a structured questionnaire. The collected data were analysed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). Results indicated that 36% of farmers were aged between 36-50 years, 35.8% had no formal education, 60.1% had less than 5 acres of land and 37.6% had the experience of over 20 years. The chi-square test of association confirmed that education (P0.05), land size (P0.05) and monthly income (P0.05) were significantly associated with the use of ICTs. Whereas, age and experiences were insignificant (P0.05) with the use of ICTs. Multiple Regression analysis confirmed that age, education and size of landholdings had statistically significant relationships with the adoption of ICTs among dairy farmers. This study, concludes that improvement in the socio-economic attributes of the farmers was associated with the improvement in the use of ICTs. Therefore, efforts are needed to improve the socio-economic conditions of farmers through farmer facilitation, subsidies, training and skills development regarding use of ICT gadgets.

Pertanian heavy input telah terbukti memiliki dampak negatiif terhadap lingkungan. Pergeseran menuju pertanian yang berkelanjutan seperti pertanian organik menjadi hal yang penting untuk dilakukan. Dengan beragam program yang dilakukan Petani ditidore perlahan mulai menggunakan input input organik sebagai subtitusi input produksi mereka. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah (1). mendeskripsikan perilaku petani dalam budidaya pertanian organik di Tidore, (2). Mendeskripsikan minat dan perilaku petani dalam melakukan budidaya pertanian organik, dan (3)mengetahui pengaruh minat, umur, pendidikan, dan pengalaman terhadap perilaku pertanian organik pada petani.Penelitian ini didesain sebagai penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan survey. Sampel penelitian ini adalah 74 petani sayuran di Tidore yang diambil secara multistage random sampling. Analisis data menggunakan statistic deksriptif dan inferensia. Hasil penelitian menunjukan; Secara umum petani dalam budidaya sebagian besar menanam komoditas jagung, cabe, tomat dan terong. System budidaya yang digunakan 91,9 persen secara monoculture dan 8,1 % dengan tumpangsari. Petani sudah mulai menggunakan input input organik dalam budidaya pertanian. Walaupun belum 100 persen input organik, namun sebagai mulai menerapkan sebagain input organik dalam usaha taninya. Pupuk organik yang biasa digunakan petani sebagai subtistusi pupuk kimia berupa pupuk kendang ataupun kompos dari membuat sendiri atau membeli. Secara rata rata petani melakukan subtitusi input non organik dengan input organik pada proporsi 50 persen. Minat petani dan pengalman dalam usaha tani memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap perilaku penerapan input pertanian organik.

This research aimed to study the types and influence of mindsets, performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence and facilitating conditions on farmers' intention to adopt a technology. The research participants were 110 broiler farmers in livestock region 3. The research used a questionnaire to collect quantitative data and analyse the data using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, correlation coefficient and structural equation modeling with maximum likelihood estimation to analyse path coefficienct and structural relationships. The result showed that most of the participants have a growth mindset more than a fixed mindset. Performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence and facilitating conditions have directly affected boiler farmers' intention to adopt the technology. Effort expectancy has a total effect on attitude toward using technology. Interestingly, facilitating conditions have shown the most considerable influence on attitude toward adopting the technology. Mindsets have an influence on effort expectancy and facilitating conditions. HIGHLIGHTS Most broiler farmers in livestock region 3 possess a growth mindset than a fixed mindset Performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence and facilitating conditions have direct effect on boiler farmers' intention to adopt the technology Mindsets influence farmers' perception of effort expectancy and facilitating conditions of adopting the technology
