There is a glaring shortage of studies on the impact of ICTs use on the adoption of agroforestry technologies and combined effects of ICTs use and agroforestry technologies’ adoption on farmers’ welfare. To fill the information gap, this study examined the impact of ICTs use on agroforestry technologies’ adoption and their heterogenous impacts on crop farmers’ welfare in Southwest, Nigeria. Endogenous-treatment poisson regression (ETPR) model and unconditional quantile regression (UQR) model were used to analyse the data collected from 488 respondents. The results indicated that the use of ICTs improved the adoption of agroforestry technologies which facilitate friendly environment. Also, ICTs use and agroforestry technologies’ adoption statistically and heterogeneously influenced farm revenue and household food insecurity access scale (HFIAS). Precisely, ICTs use had the highest influence on farm revenue at the lowest quantile, while agroforestry technologies’ adoption had the highest effect on household food insecurity access scale (HFIAS) at the lowest quantile. Therefore, policies that promote crop farmers’ access to ICTs should be the priority of policy makers who are interested in the welfare of crop farmers and increased farmers’ level of agroforestry technologies’ adoption.

The study was assessing the effect of Information and Communications Technology (ICTs) on agriculture productivity in Zambia's Southern Province based on the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) Model. Additionally, the study focused on highlighting social economic factors that influence adoption of ICTS. The sample was drawn from small scale farmers in Mazabuka and Monze districts of Southern Province. The study used a mixed method approach and used a multi-stage sampling procedure to draw the sample. Data was collected using both qualitative and quantitative responses using both closed ended and open ended questionnaire generated based on the UTAUT conceptual framework. The response rate was 94% from both Mazabuka and Monze districts. The research utilised the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) software and used Regression and Pearson Correlation to analyse the data. Pearson Correlation analysis showed that Performance Expectancy (R = 356**, P-Value = 0.000), Social Influence (601**, P-Value = 0.000) and Facilitating Conditions (R = 0.647**, P-Value = 0.000) and Effort Expectancy (R = 0.185**, P-Value = 0.001) are all positively correlated to behavioural intention. Similarly, regression analysis results were less than the significance level of 0.005 therefore, it was inferred that there is significant impact of all the independent variables on behavioural intention. The research also concluded that there is a relationship between ICT adoption and productivity.

Agricultural farming consists of multiple components and information related to farm management is one of the crucial factors. Information and communication technologies (ICTs) provide reliable and need based information in an effective way. This study focuses on investigating the extent of ICTs usage for integrated farm management and to clarify the underlying factors in Gauripur upazila (sub-district) under Mymensingh district of Bangladesh. To achieve the purpose of the study, data were collected from 75 randomly sampled farmers using structured questionnaire. Both descriptive and inferential statistical techniques were applied to obtain the findings of the study. The findings of the study clearly revealed that the highest proportion of the farmers (46%) had the tendency to use ICTs to a moderate extent. The analytical findings from the study showed that among the socio-demographic attributes annual income, training received, access to information sources and knowledge level were significantly associated with the usage of ICTs by the farmers. The step-wise multiple regression analysis indicated that knowledge on ICT usage, annual income and access to information sources were the most influential factors affecting the usage of ICTs by the farmers. The policy implications of the study suggests paying more attention to increase the operational knowledge and access to ICTs with provision to hands-on training and economic incentives for rural poor farmers. The integrated approach combining both public and private sectors can be effective to improve the extent of ICT usage for efficient farm management.
