Factors affecting the live-birth rate in women with diminished ovarian reserve undergoing IVF-ET

Abstract: PurposeThe occurrence of diminished ovarian reserve (DOR) in women was growing in recent years. Although in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer (IVF-ET) became an effective treatment for DOR, the live-birth (LB) rate remains unsatisfactory. This study aimed to investigate the impact factors of LB rate in women with DOR undergoing assisted reproduction.MethodsThis was a single-center retrospective cohort study. A total of 2277 IVF-ET or ICSI cycles from 1957 DOR women were analysed. Impact factors of LB rat… Show more

“…In a cohort of couples with unexplained infertility and advanced female age, only age was found to be a clear predictor of live birth after IVF, further confirming the intrinsic awareness of every IVF expert: the age of the egg is what really matters. This conclusion is in agreement with what has already been reported in previous studies [23,28,29].…”

“…They observed significant differences between cycles ended either with live birth or not for the parameters of maternal and paternal age, body mass index, poor ovarian response, TOC, number of transferred embryos. They emphasized that maternal age and number of embryos transferred were independent factors affecting live birth rate [22]. Our results differed from those of Huang et al This difference may arise from our small population.…”

“…Furthermore, endMSC-EVs were also verified to improve in vitro fertilization (IVF) outcome in aged murine model ( 49 ). IVF-embryo transfer (IVF-ET) was widely applied in POI patients for assisted conception ( 99 ). Perhaps IVF-ET combined with MSC-EVs might be a new method for helping POI patients to conceive, although the safety to offspring needs to be explored.…”
