Research problem/aim: Family members are increasingly taking more responsibility for patient care. We were conducted this study to determine knowledge and skill needs of in-home caregivers and their care burden perceptions. Methods: The study was designed as descriptive study. The universe of this study included 350 patients who were registered in a Public Hospital Home Care Services Department by year of 2016 and the research sample consisted of 161 patients and patient relatives. Data was collected to use Patient and Caregiver Forms, Care Burden Scale, and Barthel Index. We were calculated the data with percentage, average, standard deviation, independent samples t test, Mann Whitney U, Kruskal Wallis tests. Finding: Total Care Burden Scale point is 41.32 ± 13.20, caregiver's age, marital status, educational status, economic status, to get help about care and receiving care duration do not affect CBS points, female caregivers have less CBS points than male caregivers and this difference is statistically significant (p < 0.05), the least skill level part of caregivers are care and prevention of decubitus, patient handling with the proper method, pay attention to their own body mechanisms, wound care, vital measurements, genital care, stress management and constipation. Conclusion: Caregivers have in a low level of training about care and need knowledge and skills according to patient needs. Care burden of men is higher than women.

Objectives Caregiving of stroke survivors leads to several physiopsychlogical problems for family caregiver due to excessive demand by the stroke survivors. The aim of this study was to determine general health of the caregivers of stroke survivors and their relationship with demographic factors. Methods & Materials This was a cross-sectional study in which 60 caregivers of stroke survivors were selected by convenience sampling from Sina and Firouzgar Hospitals in Tehran province in Iran, in 2015. The data was collected by two questionnaires including demographic questionnaire and General Health Questionnaire (GHQ). The collected data were analyzed by descriptive and inferential statistics including mean and standard deviation using SPSS software (version 15). Results The mean GHQ score was 61.41±14.9; in female caregiver, it was 63.07±16.09, and in male caregiver, the score was 58.33±12.28. Significant correlation found between overall GHQ score and either of the factors such as occupational status, age category, or type of caring (P=0.01). Unemployment in caregiver, aging, and 24-hour caring of stroke survivors were related to a reduction in GHQ score. However, there was no significant association between GHQ of stroke caregivers and either of the factors such as sex (P=0.35), time of caring (0.24), marital status (P=0.71), or educational status. Conclusion This study showed that family caregivers of stroke survivors experience deterioration of general health at different dimensions. Therefore, it is recommended that planning for general health and social support for caregivers should be done through policy making in health and treatment. Family caregivers play an important role in providing main support for family members with a disability in order for them to function normally in their everyday life. The main goal of this research study is to promote psychological health awareness of stroke family caregivers in Brunei Darussalam, especially during the pandemic of Covid-19. This study concentrated particularly on long-term family caregivers who provide care to stroke family members who were severely affected by the disease that caused them to heavily depended on their family caretakers. This qualitative research involves interviewing 8 locals participants using snowballing sampling and a thematic analysis approach that investigate thoroughly the challenges and identifies the needs required by family caregivers in Brunei. The findings of the study discovered that all family caregivers experience psychological issues such as ‘Depression’ and ‘Stress’ and are in need of family support and self-care to reduce challenges they experience such as emotional exhaustion, physical problem, sleep deprivation, financial issues, and accessibility to basic needs in caregiving.
