“…Spermatozoa are exposed to physical stress from the time they are ejaculated, and their processing increases the possible cellular damage to these cells, affecting the mitochondrial function and the reactive oxygen species (ROS; Agarwal, Ikemoto, & Loughlin, 1994;Aitken, De Iuliis, Finnie, Hedges, & McLachlan, 2010;Guthrie & Welch, 2006).
