“…The impact of eligibility criteria on women in post-stroke neuromodulation studies, particularly involving walking and TMS, has been rarely reported. 13,14,18,19 This is an important area of continued research. 16,17 Hence, our primary objective is to investigate enrollment of women in a post-stroke neuromodulation (ie, tDCS) study in 2 ways (1) to determine whether sex (female vs male) has an impact on the occurrence of each barrier to enrollment (exclusion criterion) and determine if these effects differ by sex; and (2) to compare the sex distribution of individuals screened and enrolled in our study with that of a broader stroke-affected population.…”
