Abstract: Acetylation is an important post‐translational modification (PTM). Aberrant acetylation, or deacetylation, has been linked to cancer, diabetes, neurodegeneration and auto‐immune disorders. Lysine acetylation is a reversible PTM, where deacetylation is catalyzed by histone deacetylases.
