“…However, even though students in the Department of Dental Hygiene are preliminary professionals who have to establish a cooperative relationship regardless of gender in the workplace as dental hygienists after graduation, there is concern that they may not be able to escape from the traditional gender roles and stereotypes by living with women during most of their school life. Examining previous studies [6][7][8][9] , it was confirmed that studies on gender sensitivity and gender equality were limited to specific occupational groups. Accordingly, we examine the gender sensitivity and gender equality consciousness of students in the Department of Dental Hygiene as prospective professionals who will meet various targets and co-workers, and we assess the need for programs to promote such aspects among dental hygiene students in the curriculum.…”
