Factor Analysis of Packaging Visual Design for Happiness on Organic Food—Middle-Aged and Elderly as an Example

Abstract: This study explored the visual images that affect middle-aged and elderly consumer groups in organic food packaging design, and summarized the happiness of visual design elements for organic food as a reference for design. This study used expert interviews, the KJ method to collect image vocabulary and select representative samples, and the Semantic Differential method (SD method) to evaluate the happiness image of organic food. Then, the questionnaire survey method was used to investigate the subjects’ attent… Show more

“…Attributes of food, such as appearance, taste, and nutritional value, are also considered as crucial determinants for consumers making food choices [ 48 , 49 ]. Consumers have perceived both functional and ethical attributes to fulfil their personal needs and desires so that they prefer to choose green products [ 50 , 51 ].…”

“…It is not easy to create space for building information modeling (BIM) given an existing curriculum in an industrial engineering school. Our work incorporated BIM in engineering project subjects without curriculum restructuring following Kinnane and West's [81] proposal but focused on the collaborative nature of BIM with active collaborative learning. Our proposal is aligned with several BIM learning trends identified by different authors, including educational innovation in both technical and managerial aspects of BIM, interdisciplinary collaboration [83], collaboration between professionals and teachers in the design of the practical portion of the subject [84], and promoting collaborative work environments and active learning methodologies [85].…”

“…When using the Wilcoxon signed rank test [79,80], the existence of statistically significant differences between the TOPSIS and fuzzy TOPSIS results was evaluated, taking into account the ranking results of the samples for each method. To reduce the number of variables, an exploratory factor analysis was performed [81]. Through this analysis, the results for each evaluated course were subjected to an analysis of variance (ANOVA) to determine whether there were significant differences at the 95% level of confidence (step 2).…”

“…The more the visual image is transferred to the package, the easier it is for the consumer to understand it. Researchers found out that the advantages of the brand can be exploited and the visual design of the packaging can be divided into six components: color, text, graphics, layout, structural modeling, and materials (Ansari, Usama, & Siddiqui, 2019;Tu, Chang, & Chen, 2019). Packaging can be developed to convey desired messages to the consumer more clearly and consciously.…”
