“…Goal priority, simultaneously with the barrier of time limitation, were discussed in response to both the general and the patient specific questions. Research findings from a scoping review on the barriers and facilitators to applying patient-centred goal-setting practice in rehabilitation suggest that one of the most common barriers to person-centred goal setting in rehabilitation is the insufficient time for providers [53]. Although all the physiotherapists had set rehabilitation goals with their patients, lack of time led to postponing some goals to a later time during their rehabilitation and instead focusing on the ones that the physiotherapist deemed more important for the patients’ safe and quicker discharge.…”

“…Moreover, until the recent WHO definition, there was no clear consensus definition of rehabilitation, which adds to the confusion about what can be expected when seeking rehabilitation services. Consequently, over the last two decades, there has been a lack of understanding of rehabilitation needs and the specific services available and outcomes that can be achieved relevant to individual patient needs [ 21 , 22 ]. Rehabilitation services need to be responsive to individuals' needs and concerns, and to do so, a better understanding of consumer decision‐making in accessing rehabilitation services is required.…”
