“…Firstly, we show that the resource orchestration theory (ROT) is a robust and adherent approach ( Sirmon et al, 2011 ) for understanding and proving an adequate response by orchestrating the firm's resources in highly disruptions crises such as the COVID-19. Our proposed and validated model supported by the ROT advances the literature focused on disruptions ( Ambulkar et al, 2015 ; Yu et al, 2019 ), more specifically about the COVID-19 disruptions in O&SCM ( Dubey et al, 2021 ; El Baz and Ruel, 2021 ; Xiong et al, 2021 ). Thus, following the literature on supply chain resilience that reported the direct and indirect effects of supply chain alertness ( Shin and Park, 2021 ), our work found that supply chain alertness exerts direct and indirect effects in supply chain resilience considering highly disruptive scenarios.…”

“…Table 4 reports the non-response bias (NRB) by comparing the early and late respondents ( Armstrong and Overton, 1977 ; Pu et al, 2021 ; Um and Oh, 2020 ). We performed independent samples t -test ( Dubey et al, 2021 ). To perform the t -test, we used IBM SPSS v.27.…”

“…Pandemics and epidemics may have severe impacts on manufacturing and industrial operations (Dubey et al 2021a ; Dwivedi et al 2020 ; Ivanov and Dolgui 2021 ; Wang and Wang 2021 ). Social distancing, remote work imposition and lockdowns are examples of the drivers for the adaptation of the manufacturing activities to a “new normal” (Belhadi et al 2021 ; Aldrighetti et al 2021 ).…”

“…Artificial intelligence (AI) is undoubtedly one of the most epoch-making innovations in contemporary history; it has probably contributed more than expected and accelerated the development of other industries and fields [6,7,21]. Artificial intelligence (AI) is intelligence that is performed by machines or software by thinking and behaving intelligently like humans [3,4,22]. Furthermore, when distinguishing between "humanity" and "rationality", artificial intelligence is differentiated into human performance and idea performance [1,23].…”

“…More concretely, artificial intelligence (AI) systems are designed to resemble the human brain, leading to the ability of deep learning. As a result, the system is capable of tasks such as self-driving, medical diagnosis, program coding, financial problems, fraud detection, market prediction, product recommendations, image classification, and language translation [3][4][5]. In recent years, with the further development of artificial intelligence, we have also witnessed and been surprised at how AI has become part of our popular culture.…”
