“…First, doping alters the energy band structure and enables electron transitions, resulting in composite luminescence on these bands and emitting characteristic spectra, such as Eu 3+ , Yb 3+ , and Sm 3+ doping into lead-free halide perovskites. Second, doping can modulate the Jahn–Teller distortion, thus tuning the self-trapped exciton (STE) luminescence. Na + and Bi 3+ doping have been known to enhance the STE luminescence of Cs 2 AgInCl 6 , and Ag + doping enhances STE luminescence in Cs 2 NaInCl 6 . , It is found that by doping ions with an ns 2 electron configuration (such as Sb 3+ , Bi 3+ , Te 4+ , and Sn 2+ ), it is easier to form STE, thereby improving the optical performance.
