Facile one-step synthesis of micro/mesoporous material with ordered bimodal mesopores templated by protic ionic liquid as a heterogeneous catalyst support for alkylation

Abstract: Nanosized hierarchical micro/mesoporous composites were successfully fabricated using non-ionic block copolymer Pluronic P123 and protic ionic liquid (butylamine acetate) as the co-templates. The obtained samples were characterized by several techniques, including small angle X-ray scattering, N 2 gas sorption, scanning electron microscope and transmission electron microscopy. The result established that the final silica materials possessed a disordered population of micropores coexisting with two different me… Show more

“…The SEM and TEM images give evidence the significance of ionic liquid to the cyanuric acid-melamine complex. Besides, it is known that ionic liquid can form hydrogen bonds with water due to the special structure, , which can affect the self-assembly behavior of cyanuric acid-melamine complex. And the amide bond of IL-3 may also connect with the precursor by the hydrogen bond to form a new complex and then induce unique carbon nitride with multiple pores.…”

“…Accordingly, it is pressing to design environmentally friendly technology to fabricate porous carbon nitride. The soft templating method has been regarded as a facile way to fabricate the porous materials with large surface area. Ionic liquid, which are molten salts at room temperature, has been studied in all kinds of fields, such as chemistry, catalysis, electrochemistry, and organic synthesis. , Especially, ionic liquid can be used as the template or the structure-directing agent to induce the porous material due to the presence of the hydrophobic core and the hydrophilic headgroup, which is similar to the surfactant. , A series of porous materials have been fabricated by taking advantage of self-assembly behavior of ionic liquid as well as the synergistic effect between ionic liquid and surfactant in our previous works. , It is certified that ionic liquid can form micelles which induce the construction of special morphology and texture. This method can be applied in the synthesis of mesoporous carbon nitride materials.…”

“…Christopher B. Smith et al obtained Carbon‐based solid acid catalyst from water hyacinth leaves by one‐step hydrothermal carbonization, the presence of highest amount acid sites in the materials promote esterification of oleic acid and dehydration of xylose . Previously, our research group conducted extensive research on solid acid catalysts, including zeolite supported Phosphotungstic acid and Zr doped sulfated mesoporous silica . Nevertheless, some environmental problems and other drawbacks of these catalysts are still worth deeply pondering, the most serious problem is the losses of activity sites, which deriving from destruction of the channels structure.…”
