Facile in-situ synthesis of 2D/3D g-C3N4/Cu2O heterojunction for high-performance photocatalytic dye degradation

Abstract: Constructing heterojunction is a promising method to enhance visible-light utility and promote photogenerated e − -h + pairs separation of g-C 3 N 4 . Herein, the present work reported a g-C 3 N 4 /Cu 2 O heterojunction by a facile in situ synthetic strategy. The structure, morphology, optical, electrochemical and photocatalytic properties were investigated. The results showed the combination of g-C 3 N 4 nanosheets and Cu 2 O nanospheres resulted in the close contact interface and wide visiblelight response r… Show more

“…Because of the wide application of nitroarenes and azo dyes in industry and agriculture, many environmental issues arise due to their low stability and toxicity. Hence, it is essential to convert these pollutants into less toxic compounds. Catalytic hydrogenation of nitroarenes can not only reduce the pollution but also gain highly valuable chemicals, such as aminoarenes, which are indispensable organic intermediates for a variety of industrial products including dyes, drugs, and pesticides .…”

“…The prepared hybrid structure can improve the electrons holes separation and efficiency [483]. Other metal oxides can also be used in the g-C3N4 Methylene Blue (MB), Methylene Orange (MO), and Rhodamine B (RhB) are the most commonly stable dyes in water at room temperature [461][462][463][464][465][466][467][468]. MB and RhB are toxic dyes that their high concentration can be so harmful to human and marine animal health.…”
