“…Compared with the spectrum of Fig. 2a, besides that the stretching vibration of water, the bending vibration peak of chemisorbed O-H bond at 1632 cm -1 [29] and TiO 2 characteristic peaks (Fig. 2b), the characteristic organic bands disappeared for TiO 2 products after calcination, indicating that the complete removal of carbon spheres after calcination.…”

“…It would be very interesting to prepare nanomaterials with a novel structure based on the chemical engineering principle and methods. Novel metal oxide nanomaterials, for example, nanoparticles [9][10][11][12], nanotubes [13,14], nanofibers [15], hollow nanostructured microspheres [16,17], and also core-shell nanocomposites [18] have been prepared by gas flame combustion through adjusting the parameters of fluid mixing, flame temperature and the residence time distribution. Figure 1 shows the nanomaterials that have been synthesized by gas flame combustion.…”

“…Figure 1 shows the nanomaterials that have been synthesized by gas flame combustion. By changing the feeding position, TiO 2 /SiO 2 nanocomposite particles were prepared in premixed flame in the form of dispersing structure of TiO 2 nanocrystals depositing in amorphous SiO 2 matrix and core/shell structure of TiO 2 nanoparticles encapsulated by amorphous SiO 2 [18,19]. Based on the Joule-Thomson throttle cooling and high speed jet entrainment phenomena in the multi-jet reactor, novel γ-Al 2 O 3 hollow nanospheres as well as Al 2 O 3 /TiO 2 and Al 2 O 3 /SiO 2 hollow nanocomposites were successfully prepared; the particle size of these hollow nanostructures was in the range of 100-200 nm and the shell about 10-30 nm [17].…”

“…In the field of catalysis, the investigations showed that TS oxide possessed high catalytic activity for epoxidation of olefin [10,11] , isomerization of olefin [12] and selective oxidation of some organic compounds [13] . Moreover, the latest researches showed that the film of TS binary oxide can significantly improve the efficiency of solar cell [14,15] .Up to now, many types of composite structures of TS oxide have been investigated and claimed to have the enhanced photocatalytic activity [16][17][18][19] and catalytic activity [10,11] . However, both photocatalytic mechanism [20][21][22] and catalytic mechanism [23] of TS oxides are not completely understood.…”
