“…The organic small molecule products formed by the reaction of NH 2 -Ag-nMOFs-H 2 O 2 with p- AP were investigated by LC-MS. From Figure c,d, a large amount of small organic molecules such as acetic acid ( m / z = 60) and acetic anhydride ( m / z = 102) was found. The benzene ring of p- AP might have been opened after p- AP interaction with singlet oxygen and oxidative degradation of p- AP has occurred obviously· On the other hand, a large amount of O 2 generated in the NH 2 -Ag-nMOFs-H 2 O 2 - p- AP system was observed (Figure S9) and some p- AP was oxidized to organic compounds such as nitrophenol ( m / z = 123) and p- benzoquinone/hydroquinone ( m / z = 110). The possible reason was that p- AP interacted with O 2 , leading to oxidation of the −NH 2 and −OH active groups in p- AP .…”

“…Among them, p-nitrophenol (p-NP) has garnered attention as a common phenolic pollutant whose presence not only causes serious pollution to the environment but also poses health threats to humans, animals, and the entire ecosystem. 27 As an aromatic nitrophenol molecule, p-NP is frequently utilized as a fine chemical intermediate in the production of insecticides, medications, and dyes. 28 However, regardless of its usage among various industries, even a trace amount in concentration is detrimental to humans.…”

“…A significant group of environmental pollutants known as nitrophenols have strong chemical stability, poor biodegradability, and extreme toxicity. “…Nanoscale zerovalent iron (nZVI), with high reactivity toward a broad spectrum of environmental pollutants, has been widely deployed for environmental remediation and wastewater treatment, [6][7][8][9][10][11][12] which has made it become a promising agent to treat arsenic-laden groundwater under bench-scale and field-scale studies. [13][14][15] However, limited by its inherent magnetism and indiscriminate reducing ability, nZVI is easy to agglomerate or react with water to form hydrogen, thus decreasing its reactivity, reactive lifetime, and capacity and increasing the amount and cost of nZVI required.…”
