Facile Fabrication of Near‐Infrared‐Responsive and Chitosan‐Functionalized Cu2Se Nanoparticles for Cancer Photothermal Therapy

Abstract: Photothermal therapy has attracted much interest for use in cancer treatment in recent years. In this study, Cu Se nanoparticles as a novel photothermal agent modified by chitosan (CS-Cu SeNPs) were successfully synthesized through a facile route at room temperature. The as-synthesized CS-Cu SeNPs exhibited good water solubility and significant stability. CS-Cu SeNPs can efficiently convert near-infrared (NIR) light into heat and exhibit excellent thermostability. In vitro experiments showed that CS-Cu SeNPs h… Show more

“…The PLGA -SS-DMMA-FITC was prepared to study the cellular fluorescence localization of the nanosystem. 52 A 2 mL amount of A375 cells at 4 × 10 4 cells/mL was seeded on a 2 cm dish and incubated with PLGA -SS-DMMA-FITC (1 μg/mL). DAPI and Lysotracker were used to stain the cells before observation at 0.5 and 2 h. The cells were washed by PBS and observed by fluorescence microscopy (IX51, Olympus).…”

“…Copper-based nanomaterials have been receiving great attention due to their unique properties. Especially for copper selenide (Cu 2 Se) and copper oxide (CuO), as typical p-type semiconductors, they have potential applications in the fields of thermoelectric conversion, catalysis, therapy, sensors, and so on. Generally, the structure and morphology of nanomaterials can make a significant impact on their properties. On the basis of this view, various nanostructures of the above-mentioned two materials have also been developed.…”

“…Among exogenous stimuli, lasers have the advantages of convenience and effectiveness, leading to the wide application of photocontrolled GRNs [ 33 37 ]. Compared to ultraviolet or visible light with limited tissue penetration depth, NIR light has higher tissue penetration depth and lower phototoxicity and therefore exhibits broader application prospects in cancer gas treatment [ 38 40 ].
