Abstract:A fast and single-step preparation of patchy LnF 3 faceted-charge nanocrystals are described. These hexagonal faceted nanocrystals allow the spontaneous selective adsorption of cations or anions in the different faces, producing stable and well-defined patches of different charge. The mechanism for the formation of the patches and the properties of the obtained nanocrystals are characterized by a combination of experimental techniques and all-atomic molecular dynamics simulations. The spontaneous dual-charged … Show more
The steric effects of the ligands unveil the charged chalcogen sites which are induced by the ligand adsorption, thus promoting the anisotropic growth of two-dimensional transition metal chalcogenides (TMCs).

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
