Facebook as a Legal Information Sharing Tool and Generating Social Capital

Abstract

Sharing information in digital social media is a process, a communication act and a social interaction. This research aimed to analyze the relationship between social capital and legal sharing of information on Facebook by undergraduate apprentices of the Law Course at the Legal Training Office of the State University of Londrina. Data collection was carried out in two steps. On the first step, a questionnaire was used and, a form on the second, which provided subsidies for profile analysis on that specific media.Frequent sharing of legal information and its effective use was observed. Several fan pages are relevant for legal environment due to dissemination of important and faithful information. Apprentice social capital is still in a developing phase. Sharing and interacting online provides opportunity for this capital generation, the more legal information is shared and interacted with one another, the bigger the social capital generated, strengthening the whole process.
