“…[71][72][73] Since then, several papers on CaF 2 transparent ceramics have been published, [74][75][76][77] but only one paper on dosimeter properties exists, reported by Singh et al in 2012. 22) The previous study reported TSL properties of Mn-doped CaF 2 transparent ceramics but did not investigate an influence on dosimetric properties due to differences in material forms.…”

“…Therefore, in terms of TSL intensity, transparent ceramics are a more suitable material form for storage-type phosphors than single crystals and opaque ceramics; however, there are few study on TSL properties of transparent ceramics considering dosimetry. [20][21][22] In this paper, we compared the TSL properties of transparent ceramics, opaque ceramics, and single crystals with the same chemical composition to confirm the superiority of transparent ceramics as a dosimeter. As a chemical composition, magnesium oxide (MgO), aluminum oxide (Al 2 O 3 ), and calcium fluoride doped with manganese (CaF 2 : Mn) were selected because the TSL properties of these chemical compositions have been well-known.…”

“…[16][17][18] Recently, the synthesis method of CaF 2 transparent ceramics has been reported, [19][20][21][22] but dosimetric characteristics of transparent ceramics of CaF 2 doped with Mn have been only investigated in 2012. 23) Moreover, the past research did not investigate the difference in dosimeter characteristics due to the difference in material form. In this study, Mn-doped CaF 2 with different materials forms (transparent ceramic, single crystal, and opaque ceramic) were fabricated, and their photoluminescence (PL) and dosimetric properties were evaluated.…”

“…Until nanosized Yb: CaF 2 powders were synthesized by co‐precipitation method in 2009 and high optical quality of Yb: CaF 2 transparent ceramics were obtained by cold isostatic pressing (CIP) combined with hot isostatic pressing (HIP) method 14‐16 . The research on fluoride based transparent ceramics has aroused attention again 17‐21 …”

“…[14][15][16] The research on fluoride based transparent ceramics has aroused attention again. [17][18][19][20][21] At present, there are two methods for fabricating fluoride-based transparent ceramics. The first one is the hot-forming method in which the single crystals were pressed at high temperatures and pressure.…”
