“…The X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns of the prepared TiVO 4 and TiVO 4 /Co (3 mM) samples are displayed in Figure a. Both patterns exhibit diffraction peaks that match the single-phase TiVO 4 peaks, specifically oriented in the (110), (111), and (211) crystal planes, which align well with previous findings . These results further confirm the tetragonal structure of the samples, as indicated by the JCPDS file 01-770332.…”

“…Apart from the characteristic peaks of V 2 O 5 and TiO 2 , there are obvious peaks (27.5°, 36.1°, 54.4°) corresponding to (110), ( 101), (220) phases of TiVO 4 (JCPDS 01-770332), which confirms that there is solid solution TiVO 4 of rutile TiO 2 and VO 2 in V 2 O 5 /TiO 2 catalysts. 39,40 According to the Raman results, it can be considered that the content of solid solution TiVO 4 is the highest in 30% VT due to the largest red-shift of the E g peak. As a result of low V 2 O 5 loading and the V 2 O 5 crystal formation, the TiVO 4 characteristic peaks cannot be observed in the XRD pattern of 10 and 50 wt % V 2 O 5 /TiO 2 powder samples.…”

“…With the highest content of solid solution TiVO 4 , the 30% VT sample has a narrower band gap width than the 10% VT and 30% VT samples (Figure 4d) because the band gap widths of VO 2 and rutile TiO 2 are 0.69 and 3.0 eV. 40 In addition, due to the infiltration of V 4+ into the TiO 2 lattice, there are stable oxygen vacancy defects on the interface (Figure 6e), capturing electrons to improve the electron−hole separation rate. The properties of the 30% VT sample illustrate that the formation of a solid solution phase is beneficial for improving the effect of plasma activation on the catalyst.…”
