“…Based on the results of SEM, particle size affects the roughness of the surface morphology, the smaller the size of the particles formed, the higher the hydrophobicity and the lower the surface energy. This decreased surface energy is due to the small interaction between water and the glass surface which causes high interactions between water and air, so that the water will tend to maintain its spherical shape, as a result the contact angle between the water and the glass surface formed will be even greater [13]. Based on the size of the particles formed, the best hydrophobic properties are found in the variation of the composition of SiMn 50%:50% with a particle size of 50.05 nm.…”

“…Hydrophobic thin films sourced from Aloe vera are one of the efforts to produce coating materials for anti-pathogenic microorganisms by adding polystyrene polymers as a matrix (reinforcer) (Seifunnisha et al, 2021) . The hydrophobic coating has the characteristics of being effective in self-cleaning and having a contact angle of >90 • (Ratnawulan et al, 2020;Fauzi, 2019;Fauzi and Putri, 2020). Aloe vera leaves have a gel that can be prepared into flour/powder to have better physical properties and be more resistant to damage (Maan et al, 2021;Wang and Dai, 2016;Hendrawati, 2015).…”

“…A large number of organic additives have been studied as hydrophobic agents are silan alcoses, surfactants, acrylics, polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), polyethan eterketon (PEEK), silanized diatomaceous earth (DE) or Polyuteran (PU) [4] [5]. The material is coated onto the surface of mortar cement with epoxy resin to obtain a superhydrophobic hydrophobikataupun surface.…”
