Fabrication of Robust and Transparent Slippery Coating with Hot Water Repellency, Antifouling Property, and Corrosion Resistance

Abstract: Water-repellent coatings with low sliding angles for aqueous liquids are of great significance for practical applications. However, these coatings are susceptible to various types of damage during service and lose their effect. Herein, a robust and transparent slippery coating with extremely low water sliding angle was fabricated by covalently grafting polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) brushes in a cross-linked skeleton of epoxy resin. Polyamidoamine G5.0 with 128 NH2 end groups was used as curing agent to induce th… Show more

“…
of superhydrophobic coatings in the field of corrosion protection has attracted enormous attention because of its unique interfacial three phase contacts and excellent water resistance. [10][11][12][13] Superhydrophobic coatings are described by water contact angle (WCA) greater than 150° and water sliding angle (WSA) lower than 10°. Inspired by nature, the artificial superhydrophobic coatings exerting advantages in antifogging, antibacterial, anti-icing, oilwater separation, and water purification are fabricated by constructing appropriate hierarchical rough structures and introducing low surface energy materials.

“…Many studies have indicated that the SLIPS with a liquid layer possessed excellent antifouling performance. 16,18,47,48 In this work, Pseudoalteromonas sp., a typical marine bacteria, was utilized to evaluate the bacterial settlement on different surfaces. To improve the adhesive force and mechanical properties of the organogel, triethoxyvinylsilane and SiO 2 were added into the organogel.…”
