Fabrication of Multi-functionalized Graphene Oxide Doped Alginate Hybrid Spheres for Enhanced Fluoride Adsorption

Abstract: In this present investigation, amine functionalized graphene oxide (AGO) doped on alginate (Alg) polymeric matrix gives AGO@Alg hybrid spheres was developed to explore its potential towards fluoride retention. The vital characterization techniques namely FTIR, TGA, SEM and XPS analysis of AGO@Alg hybrid spheres were acquired to identify its physicochemical properties. The liable parameters for fluoride adsorption onto AGO@Alg hybrid spheres were optimized in a batch mode to attain enhance defluoridation capaci… Show more

“…2a). 52,53 The significant bands belonging to alginate were noticed at 1030, 1414, 1600 and 3347 cm −1 , attributed to C-O-C group stretching vibration, COO − stretching vibration of carboxylate group, OH stretching vibration and OH stretching mode, respectively (cf. Fig.…”

“…In recent years, great efforts have been made to study GO-based materials with different functionalizations that have a higher fluorine adsorption capacity in aqueous systems [65][66][67][68][69]. Recently, some non-ferric adsorbent materials have been developed such as the one developed by Xu et al [70].…”

“…The use of hydrogels for the encapsulation of GO-based functionalized materials has enabled the development of materials with great potential for water defluorination [67][68][69]. He et al [64] proposed a material that consists of a hydrogel of sodium alginate and GO with a Yttrium basis Y-GO-SA1.0 through the sol-gel for the elimination of fluoride.…”
